yet another new painting

have i mentioned how many projects i have going right now? it's ridiculous really! that's why i'm posting so many new paintings lately.

this is the first painting in a series that i'm creating for a nursery-- there are going to be 4 of these in all, each piece with different birds and scenes, and i am also going to create a mobile to go along with it, plus *hopefully* some wallpaper created from one of my patterns (eep! SO exciting! i'm working out the details and will keep you posted, but there could be jess gonacha wallpaper in your future, too, if you so desire...) and perhaps some decals.

so, my question to you all is, have you ever made decals? do you have any advice about where to have them made or how to make them myself? should i go through a sign shop? we used to have vinyl letters made for the walls when i worked at the boulder museum of contemporary art, and i remember they could make pretty much anything into wall vinyl.

any suggestions?

oh you can have decals done for inexpensive online. i have to look through my bookmarks for the one i used before. but generally speaking, they're about the same price, more or less.

Hmm...I would go through some kind of sign shop or look online. What about contact paper? Not sure how well it holds up on the wall, plus you would have to cut it by hand. But, could be a good starting point to see how it looks on the wall before you go to the sign shop. Let us know where you go - I'm curious now!

I love this one!!
I think a sign shop would be a good place to start. They have plot printers that basically print your image onto vinyl and then you just peel it out like stickers. We used to do them here- it is quite easy. Good luck :) Hooray for all the exciting things!
