tinekhome: gorgeous interiors

i don't post much about interiors on this blog, because it's not my biggest interest, and there are plenty of blogs out there that do post about interior design that you probably already read. but this, i could not pass up. tinekhome makes me want to throw away everything i own and start over completely, and the first thing i would do would be create a room in that color combination above. just look at that wallpaper!

that fuschia color (or is it magenta? berry? red-violet?) is KILLING ME right now, and paired with white and dark gray-brown (like in the photo of the little girls below), it's almost too much for me to handle. seeing a perfect color combination is pretty much the best thing i can imagine. i am a color fiend. a color nerd.

anyhow, i think you'll probably want to check out tinekhome's website, because it is gorgeous. flip through their catalog, because all the photographs are this gorgeous.

(ps- they are based in denmark, so they are scandinavian. which means of course it's all gorgeous!)

gorgeous pillows by umber dove

these pillows by umberdove make me want to redecorate my entire house. not that my house is at all decorated now.... mostly there are just a bunch of paintings by me on the walls, mismatched furniture, ugly carpet, and random things i've made over the years, but nonetheless! one day when i have my dream home i imagine it will be filled with gorgeous pillows like this.

check out the blog, etsy shop, and website for more goodies!

whale soap dish by fox and clover (+ a video post)

i want this whale soapdish *so badly*. fox & clover's work is so incredible.
i just hit 900 etsy sales, and one of my twitter buddies suggested i congratulate myself with a gift. i think i'll wait until i hit the big 1,000 sales, but this is high on the list for possible self-gifts! oh, i love it so.

ps- my first ever video post is up over on pecannoot-- if you want to see what i look like with make-up (remember this post without it? eek), then head on over! i felt silly talking to my computer, but i'm excited to be entering the realm of low-tech video-- yay!

scandinavian fish pattern

i'm totally and completely in love with this fish pattern, available at northlight scandinavian interiors on a whole bunch of products.

once again i find myself asking "why don't i live in europe?" this lovely store can be found in oxford, UK, and i wish wish wish i could visit in person!

ona home

i discovered a shop i'd never heard of this morning called ona home, while browsing the rare device website and i think these card holders are just the cutest things ever.

ona home is based in lithuania, which makes me like it even more. i visited vilnius, lithuania briefly several years ago while traveling with a friend ( we were en route from talinn, estonia, to krakow, poland), and it was such an interesting city. it was very rainy, and i remember walking up a big hill to look over the entire city, and there was an onion-domed cathedral way off in the distance that i badly wanted to visit, but i had no idea what or where it was.

anyway, it makes me happy that ona home is based in lithuania. oh, the travel bug has struck this morning!!

scandinavian surfaces

maybe i'm totally out of the loop not knowing about this company, but i discovered norway-based scandinavian surfaces just now, and i'm smitten. they have designs that can be printed on a variety or surfaces, like wallpaper, fabric, table tops, and more.

their designs are just simply gorgeous and elegant, and the photographs on their site are lovely. many of them feature fun animals, such as the one directly below:

get ready to drool as you click through their site!!

joie

i love glass bottles and jars. like, love them. i especially love keeping bath and body products in them. (i have a secret idea that i'm going to create a body cream with gorgeous packaging to add to my shop one of these days....)

anyway, i discovered this new line called joie over on fffound this morning (via the dieline, the best packaging blog around), and i can't wait to see it in stores! i hope it's made of all organic ingredients, because then i wouldn't be able to resist buying it. aren't the bottles so pretty?

loyal loot collective: log bowls

you may have seen these log bowls by loyal loot collective around on some blogs, but i couldn't resist posting them here, because these photos are just too fantastic. i am *crazy* about those shiny colors juxtaposed with the textured logs-- i want these bowls all over my house.

if anyone knows where you can buy these gorgeous pieces, please let me know! so i can spend all my money on them, of course. :)

if you live in LA, you are lucky enough to be able to see these in person: here and here. and if you live elsewhere in the world, check here for retailers.
love it!

trying to be inspired

well, i'm trying my darndest to get inspired by something this morning. it's one of those morning so far where i just don't want to do anything or think about my work at ALL-- i wish i were on vacation somewhere.

anyway, here are a couple of things that caught my attention over in the fawn & forest shop: these terrific decals by elly nelly and this gorgeous, gorgeous mobile by frazier & wing.

hopefully these will be the kick start to a creative day!

{ps... sorry for the lack of posts yesterday-- i was dealing with a minor crisis. my new computer pooped out wednesday night (the screen went blank and that was that. it wouldn't turn on again.) so i had to go to the apple store twice yesterday to get it all sorted out! but i am back in action now, with a new computer and everything from the hard drive. phew!}

moroccan poufs

oh my. could i be any more crazy about these leather moroccan poufs at john derian's shop than i already am? i don't think so. well, unless i saw them in person, in which case i'd be likely to spend too much money buying too many poufs, and then i would be in heaven and would never sit in a chair again.

daily love: perch!

i would like to have these hanging all over my porch and in corners of my house. oh, the things you could put in these sweet little hanging containers!

'a container for one thing' is made by perch! in brooklyn, available at rare device in san francisco.

marco cibola at poketo

aren't these plates incredible? they are made by marco cibola and are available at poketo. they are called 'the middletons,' based on the idea that plates can have personalities, too.
their names are doug, janet, claire, and perry. isn't that the cutest?

marimekko: pattern love

this morning i was searching around for scandinavian design, and popped into the finnish design shop, and i was immediately struck by this fabric above. it's designed by jenni tuominen for marimekko, and i don't think it could be any more gorgeous. it's pretty much my favorite thing i'v ever seen. so, that got me browsing through the rest of the marimekko fabrics (and wondering why i hadn't visited their site in a while-- they always have the best designs!!), and the ones below are some more of my favorites.

the one directly below is designed by erja hirvi, the two after that are by maija louekari, and the last one is by hennamari asunta.

now i totally want to design patterns for marimekko.

i swear, i don't know how i'll ever be able to focus on one thing artistically, because i'm too inspired by too many things! ack!

bailey doesn't bark: ceramics

these sweet little hand-painted porcelain pieces by bailey doesn't bark would make any kitchen more lovely. i particularly love that extra tired birdie up in that top image, with his wings hanging down over the power line. cuteness indeed!

visit bailey doesn't bark's etsy shop for many more designs and useful items for your home.

daily home love: vortex blender

i'm always looking for ways to make my home a little more eco-friendly, and this totally fits the bill. a hand-cranked blender? awesome!

according to the folks at terra pass, it works really well, and it's not about the same price as a regular old blender. cool!

i have a hand-cranked juicer that i really like-- this blender would be a welcome addition to my kitchen, especially since i use my blender each and every morning for my daily smoothie breakfast. (this morning it was frozen banana, avocado, turnip greens, a date, flax seeds, and soy milk. yum!!)

amazing interior: hackenbroich architecten

i saw that top image on fffound and was instantly drawn to the color combination and the incredible handing bulbs-- i want those bulbs hung in a corner of my house! wouldn't that look amazing?

anyway, i wanted to know where this image came from, and i discovered that it is the interior of a hairdressers shop in cologne, germany, created by hackenbroich architecten. i think it's just stunning, and now i wish i lived in cologne so i could get my hair done there. :)
