this is dowtown boulder today. 6 inches and still snowing. my car wouldn't start this morning, and it wouldn've been a nice day to stay in bed. oh well! things to do...

i think i have a crush... on some drawings

i think suzy, the artist behind girly handwriting, must be truly marvelous. i've fallen immediately in love with her work, and i've even never seen it in person! her drawings and paintings are so quirky and odd and full of personality-- i would love to see her studio.

urban outfitters has a soft little place in my heart once again. i was disenchanted with them for a while, but all their cute new stuff is ROCKIN'!

i bought this super cute birdcage bedspread today, in hopes of livening up the bedroom...

i came across these funky floors in the design public newsletter. they have a cool blog called hatch that you can check out right here. i love the cross sectioned tree floor! how innovative.

my amazingly gifted and hilarious ceramic artist friend and i have been laboriously designing her new website, and it is up and running! caroline douglas constantly blows my away with the things that come out of her. check out her new site and her fantastic work here.

jessica of frau liebe has inspired me today. one of my true loves are funky little vintage cups and saucers and things, and she has hit the jackpot with her flea market finds. she also sews really funky bags and clothes and stuff for the house-- check out her site here and her blog here.

today is... mini monoprint day!

i just found out that i sold a bunch of the mini monoprints that i have at om time, the best yoga shop and studio here in boulder, so it's time to make more! i was on a roll today... i'm really into the flower theme, and i can't wait to get back into the studio for monoprinting round two tomorrow. i'll post when they're done!

chickens!

i think i'm taking after my grandmother.... she loves chickens.....

i saw these ceramic chickens at one of my favorite stores in boulder, atmosphere. i love the yellow on the red shelf.

along the line of chickens, i've sort-of begun making my ornaments for the ornament swap (via freshly{blended} and cake+pie), and they are all going to be hand sewn chickens... will be sure to post when they're done!

another great velocity find... fumi's pieces are hand cut wood block and collage. i ma in love with the nature inspired images she uses. see more of what she does right here.

i was immediately drawn to amy ruppel's work when i saw it at velocity. her process is a combination of melted layers of beeswax, digital images, and drawings-- i love hearing about other artists' mediums!

tiny little shiny paintings

looking back though photos of past artwork, i came across this image of a piece of a show from last year that i did-- these pieces are 5x8", 6x8", and 8x8", and i remembered how i love working small! check out my website here.

my gocco printer ink and screens and bulbs just arrived a couple days ago, and that is totally in the vein of working small. i can't wait to start producing funky little prints!

5 reasons i love.... getting up early

1. it's really really quiet
2. i like to put on a big sweater and drink coffee
3. i have time to look at magazines and cookbooks while eating breakfast
4. i get to wake ryan up, and he's so cute when he's sleeping!
5. i love to write in the morning, and my brain isn't fully awake yet, so the writing can come out on its own.

where the hell is matt?

this is one of the funnier things i've com across on the internet. this guy has it made-- he gets paid to travel around the world, to dance and videotape it everywhere he goes! his dance is always the same, but the backdrop changes (it's all set to music, too), and it's so funny! check out his project here.

i am in the midst of wallpaper obsession. i am also in the midst of relearning to screen print. wallpaper making, here i come! i found this lovely print on the sprayglue blog. he has a lot of fun things to say and awesome images.
