Have you all heard of the 365 Project? Taking more photos has been on my list of things to do for a long time now, and I'm hoping this will prompt me to actually do it. The 365 Project is a place where you can upload a photograph every day, to document a year of your life in photographs. Cool, right?I secretly wish I were a photographer-- although in college, photography was one of the hardest classes I ever took! Maybe it'd be easier now, what with all the digital technology. I don't know. I had such trouble in the dark room! Speaking of photographers, have you visited Ashley Thalman's blog, Bird on the Lawn? (Ashley was my wedding photographer, and she is magical. I wish she lived right next door to me.) Bird on the Lawn is the most thoughtful, heartfelt, and beautiful-photo-filled blog that I've ever seen. You'll definitely want to start following her, people.
Anyway, I think I'm going to start doing the 365 Project today-- what better time to start than right now, right?
You guys, I have serious beach brain. I can't remember the last time I've wanted to be somewhere warm so badly! What I wouldn't give to hop onto a plane to Hawaii right now-- and these photos by Tim Gough are just making the desire to be on the beach even stronger!
I love these photos so much. I imagine they're taken with a holga camera or something? The square format, the light-seeped edges.... they're just gorgeous.

Good morning! I can't believe it's Friday already. Although I did think it was Friday on Wednesday, so apparently I have no sense of time this week.What I do know this week, though, is that I think these photographs by Frances Jmelhop are exquisite.And I could pretty much die happy if I owned that dress below. I think I would find every holiday party possible to attend in that dress! I love it so much.

I love the other-worldliness of these photographs by French graphic artist duo Helmo. They feel magical, don't they? Slightly eerie, too, I think-- for some reason I keep thinking of the Blair Witch Project-- do you remember that movie?
I can't stop staring at the colored smoke and wondering how they achieved these effects... I think it's just beautiful. Be sure to check out Helmo's website for more.
here in the midst of the steamy georgia summer, i found myself thinking about winter this morning, and i came across this beautiful photo of horses in the iceland winter.the photo is from gaeia's flickr photostream, and she also had a link to this amazing site about trekking through iceland on horses tours. add that to my list of things i want to do in my life, please.
these projection photos by jenny holzer are so mysterious and strange to me.... can you imagine happening upon something like this, projected on the side of a hill or onto the side of a building? it would be incredible, and moving, too, i think. it makes me wonder if she does this anonymously, or if the projections are big, publicized events.
there isn't any information about the projections on jenny's website, but there are tons of images to browse through, and they're all fantastic. i also learned a bit more about jenny and her work here and here, and now i'm totally fascinated by her!
oh boy. this is one of those times where i fall in love with something so much that i don't even know what to write about it. the color..... oh my, it's magical. these pieces are"constructs" by laura kicey, and i can't get enough.
for some reason i was thinking about jellyfish this morning, and i remembered a friend's halloween costume from when we were kids (she made a jellyfish out of an umbrella,) so i thought i'd do a good ol' google search to see what i could find. and look at these gorgeous photographs by shadowplay on flickr that popped up! i love these. it makes me want to incorporate jellyfish umbrellas into my wedding somehow..... but that might be too much. i think we're going to have a photobooth type set-up for fun photographs in addition to our lovely roaming photographer, somaybe a jellyfish umbrella would fit into that scenario? what do you think? cheesy? awesome?

{vivoandando}i have a holga camera that i got last year that i have, sadly, hardly used at all. i do have a roll of film that needs to be developed, though, and these images are inspiring me to take it in today!hopefully i'll have some gems to share with you. we shall see.these photos are all from the 'my life with holga' flickr group. (the individual pages are listed under each photograph.) i think they are just so wonderful!!
