TREASURING HAS MOVED!
I've moved Treasuring over to my website, so you can now find it new and improved RIGHT HERE. Please update your readers and subscribe if you haven't already. Thanks!(You can get email updates from the new site, too, if that suits your fancy!)
here it is! the repeating panda pattern.
i'm thinking of starting a free monthly desktop wallpaper download with my patterns... what do you think? good idea?
i have the panda drawing from earlier on my desktop right now and it looks oh so cute. :)
yesterday was one of those days where i everything i touched turned to mud. all day long i kept trying to make things and then ruined them, or they were just hideous to begin with. and when i went to the post office, the self-serve machine was broken, so i had to wait in a long line and then got the mean clerk lady that thinks she's better than everyone. so, need less to say, i was feeling crabby.
somehow i was able to turn my bad attitude around, though, by after-dinner-time, and i had a ball drawing some pandas! aren't they cute? i think i'm going to make a repeating pattern out of them next. stay tuned!

i'm feeling really pleased with the color combination in this new mini painting. it's called 'thinking' and is 6x8", acrylic, oil, india ink, and linoleum block printing on wood.
i believe this one might become a print in the shop.
speaking of the shop, have you pre-ordered your calendar yet? don't forget if you order one by october 1st you'll be entered in the giveaway for a free calendar! click here to get your very own.

this is a post especially for you atlanta readers (i know you're out there!)

i'm feeling the friday itch today-- i want to get out of the house and do something fun!
painting fish has made me want to go out on a boat or something-- do you all have any fun weekend plans?
this little painting is called "we're right here under the surface," and it's acrylic, india ink, linoleum block printing, and paper on wood. this one is rhode island bound (yes gallery and studio)!

i'm pretty obsessed with this monotype/mixed media print by alyson aga. it is just as perfect as can be. and i was so pleased when i read that she lives in boulder, co (my hometown, yay!)
you can get this print in the shiny squirrel shop, which, incidentally, seems to be full of lots of new goodies. definitely worth a browse (and a purchase if you are so inclined!)

i'm working on another slew of new smaller paintings now that a few of my bigger projects are completed (did you see the first ever website that i built? check it out!)this little bear painting is called 'i'm trying to say it so you can hear.' i really love it, and i'm working on another one with a similar theme right now, but with fish.
a print of this one will be available in the etsy shop today, too!
here is a silly new painting-- although i think it has deeper undertones of having your spce invaded. and, i'm sort-of obsessed with crocodiles these days.
it's called "please don't come any closer."
8x10", acrylic, india ink, and linoleum block printing on wood.
i clearly have calendars on the brain. choosing a calendar for the year has always been an important decision for me (i mean, you're going to be looking at it for a whole year! it has to be just right). last year i chose this one by wolfie and the sneak (which is hanging over my desk and i *love* it). this morning i'm in love with this calendar by turtle papers in seattle-- isn't it gorgeous? i love the birds and flowers theme.
i'm actually pretty much in love with everythingin the turtle papers shop-- don't you want to go have a look? and if you want to see even more, head on over to their flickr page-- there is much loveliness to be seen.

oh my god, how much do you love this wedding dress?? and how awesome is this photograph? i first saw these pics on the offbeat bride, and i'm totally nuts for that dress.
and i'm wowed by the photographer, too-- her name is becky novacek, and oh what i wouldn't give to have her photograph my wedding next summer.
do you think she'd trade some paintings for her services? :) (just kidding.)
{and another photo of that dress... swoon....}

speaking of weddings, i need your help, dear friends.
do any of you know of a great photographer (read: affordable) in the southern CA area? i have no idea where to even begin looking, so if you can point me in a direction, i would appreciate it mucho!
also, do any of you know of a great bluegrass band in the same area? we're having our wedding on the beach and are looking for a non-amplified bluegrass band. (a gypsy-type band is also in the running, so if you know of any of those, send them my way, too!)
ANNNNNNND....... the next post will be the calendar pre-order post. are you so
excited???!? i am!! stay tuned...
i'm smitten. these drawings by janice jong are just too amazing. i'm always such a fan of black and white drawings with one or two bold colors, and these are just what i need to get my creative wheels cranking after a long weekend. (although, i worked on projects all weekend...)
janice is inspired by places she's traveled and books she's read-- i think she should turn these illustrations into a kids' book!
