alexander calder at the whitney

goodness, if i lived in new york, i would go see this alexander calder show at the whitney as soon as i possibly could. i just read about it on the arts page of the new york times, and it looks incredible.

his wire sculptures are fantastic, and i'd love to see 'Calder's Circus', which is full of hand-crafted characters with low-tech moving parts-- it looks like it would be just magical in person.

the show is up through february 16th, and you can read more about it on the new york times website (and watch the slideshow, which is where these images are from as well).

and speaking if shows i'd like to see, the louvre show just opened at the high museum here in atlanta, which is a bit closer to home than the whitney, and it is definitely on my list of things to do!

wow! I wish I could go. For some reason it reminds me of the movie "the science of sleep"! Have a great weekend :)
