cool photographer... amy stein

i love when an artist is able to capture a moment that feels like a slice of a story, and the details are left up to the viewer to fill in. amy stein's photographs do just that, in my opinion. i love how they feel like a narrative, but there is an air of mystery to them.

i also feel a sense of sadness when looking at them, especially the top two, because they speak of our changing relationship with nature and the ever-expansive human world.

you can see more of amy's work on her website.

My favorite is the Spiderman. Do you think the kids are actors?

i like that one, too, larkyn!

i don't think they're actors... on her website they're from a series called "Halloween in Harlem." I think they're just dressed up kids!
