cool artist... rebecca schoenecker

good morning friends!! i hope you're in the mood for some killer art today, because i am, and that's what i'm going to show you! starting with these beauties by rebecca schoenecker. they are done in gouache, ink, and pencil on paper, and she also has some great embroidered pieces on her website.

i found rebecca's work through a link on lisa solomon's blog, and if you are not familiar with lisa's work, you really should be. it is incredible.

both rebecca and lisa are in a show called "
devotion to thread" in milkwaukee, wisconsin at woodland pattern, from may 17- june 13, and if you are in the area, you best be gettin' your booty over to see that show. i bet it's amazing!

ps: it's curated by faythe levine, the one woman wonder who created the documentary "handmade nation," who will be at ICE on june 7th here in atlanta, and who will be screening her film! can't wait....
