marc johns

marc johns' work is making me very happy this morning. i love how whimsical and funny it is, and also how simple. it makes me want to break out the watercolors and ink and let my imagination run away with me!

his flickr photostream is full of little gems like these-- not to be missed, i tell you. go to it!

This made my day - how awesome are those leggings?! I will definitely check out more of his work.

I totally agree, Erin! Is that drawing not the best thing you've ever seen??!

Love this. Thanks for all the inspiration.

Sometimes I look at the stuff you've collected and done and I want to try it ALL.

I'm kind of a dabbler, though, still looking for the way into my voice, after so many years of not doing art.

But then again, maybe I should just draw when I get the urge, and follow my heart and my instincts and let the voice take care of itself.

DO IT, Rowena! You will love getting your hands dirty again. Definitely just draw when you get the urge-- it'll be scary a little bit, and you might do some really bad drawings, but you have to make bad art in order to get to the good art, right? I make bad drawings all the time! I just laugh and move on. :)
