the beauty of nature

i wish i had a tree like this in my back yard.
(well, let's be honest here-- i wish i had a back yard. i am not fond of living in an apartment building. i've always lived in houses until i moved to georgia and into an apartment, and it's got to change!)

i think this photo by julie alvarez is beautiful, and i found it in the still flickr group created by uniform studio. does anyone know what kind of tree it is? i'd love to know. and check out this flickr group if you get a chance-- it's all abot still life photos, and there are some beauties.
