fiona, the wonder behind cartolina cards, has a heart of gold. she sent me a package full of her cards that arrived yesterday, and it felt like christmas!! they are even more wonderful in person. if you are in search of unique and incredible cards, i suggest going straight to cartolina. they are beautiful. and what's more, they are printed on recycled paper, so you can feel good about them, too! thank you, fiona. i so appreciate your kindness and generosity. :)

i have to admit something. i don't think i've ever bought a card in my whole life. now before you start thinking i'm some kind of scrooge that doesn't like to send people well-wishes and birthday wishes and the like, let me explain.

i've made cards for every occasion since i was a little kid-- birthdays, christmas, you name it. (ok, i lied... i just remembered i bought 2 of these cards to give to ryan on 2 separate occasions. but that's because they're so freakin' hilarious that i couldn't pass them up.) anyway, if i were to buy some cards, these cards by cartolina would be a top pick. i love them. i think the vibrant colors and lush patterns are just killer.

don't you like them? now i wish i was going to the stationary show this weekend to check out all the paper goods. (cartolina will be there! booth #1663)
but then i'd probably end up buying a whole stack of cards to bring home and i'd be one big fat liar.
so i guess it's good i'm not going. but i still wish i were. sigh.

my friend renee, of wolfie and the sneak, is pretty much the most creative person i know. i am completely smitten with her work, and she never fails to amaze me with her new products and dedication to her craft. that said, check out what's new in her etsy shop! these fun notecards are calling my name-- wouldn't you want to receive one of these in the mail? my sister and i have a penpal thing going on, and i know she would be pleasantly surprised to get a letter written on one of these beauties. check out what else is in wolfie and the sneak's shop, as well as their website! you will be so happy you did. :) oh, and her blog, too, of course.

i meant to post about these when i saw them on poppytalk the other day, and just came across them again in my saved bloglines. i LOVE (and i mean lo-o-o-ove) these block-printed/screen-printed card sets by morris + essex in buenos aires, argentina. they are just gorgeous. the fact that they are all printed by hand is quite simply amazing to me. i would love to see these in person (lucky me, she has an etsy shop! check it out right here.)
